Role of Concrete in Bridge Construction

In the process of bridge construction, it plays a very important role in construction and maintenance of concrete. The durability of structural surface of concrete depends largely on the control of humidity and temperature during construction and maintenance.

Requirements for Concrete in Bridge Construction Engineering

Concrete construction has a great relationship with temperature, in the hot climate for concrete construction, concrete before the pouring shall not exceed 32℃.

You should take various measures to maintain the concrete temperature does not exceed 32℃, such as aggregate and other components shall be enclosure covered and cooled. Formwork, steel bars, steel flanges in contact with concrete shall be cooled below 32 ° C by covering with wet linen or cotton wool, spray water, cover with protective cover or other approved methods; The pouring temperature of concrete for deck and deck pavement shall not exceed 26℃. When the evaporation rate is greater than 0.5 kg/ hour, the concrete should not be poured on the bridge deck, deck pavement or other exposed slab structure.

When pouring concrete in a hot climate, the formwork and newly poured concrete should be avoided from direct sunlight. Pouring should be arranged as far as possible in the evening to avoid the hot day, and should not be poured in the morning to avoid accelerating the internal temperature rise of the concrete when the temperature rises to the maximum. In the environment of low relative humidity and high wind speed, it is advisable to take spray, wind prevention and other measures, or avoid pouring panels and other members with large exposed area at this time; When pouring concrete, the concrete temperature and temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and other environmental parameters should be measured regularly, and the maintenance mode should be adjusted timely according to the change of environmental parameters.
