Classification of Hot Recycling Technology of Plant Mixed Asphalt

The plant mixed hot recycling technology needs to transport the old materials (RAP) removed from the pavement back to the mixing plant, and then re-add them to the asphalt concrete through a series of processes such as crushing, storage and addition. According to the addition method, it can be divided into cold addition method and hot addition method.

Cold addition is directly added by mixing cylinder. The advantages of this method are less equipment investment, simple and reliable. If the asphalt foam device is installed, it can also be used to produce warm mixed asphalt or small batch of cold mixed materials. Its limitation is that the primary aggregate needs to be heated to a very high temperature to compensate for the temperature loss caused by the addition of recycled materials. Therefore, the addition ratio is small, basically between 15% and 40%. Another disadvantage of this method is that the mixing time is long, which affects the equipment output.

The hot addition needs to heat the recycled material through parallel drums. The recovered material is heated in the parallel drum, heated to about 120-140 ℃, and then added to the mixing tank through the weighing scale. This technology can greatly increase the amount of recycled materials, up to 70%. At the same time, it can be combined with the addition of cold recycling, which brings more choices to customers.
